SeaLions Remain Undefeated And Move Into First Place With 3-0 Win

The San Diego WFC SeaLions used goals from three different players to move into first place in the San Diego Division with a 3-0 road win over the previously unbeaten San Diego Surf at Canyon Crest Academy Stadium.

Within a nine-minute span beginning with Kiera Bocchino slight touch off of Christina Bragado's shot on goal in the 7th minute, the SeaLions took control of the match. In the 10th minute, Lili Andino received Bocchino's pass and slotted it past the Surf goalkeeper for a 2-0 lead. Six minutes later, Cori Deason tallied her second goal of the year on a helper from Elise Britt to extend their advantage to 3-0 going into the intermission.

SDWFC (4-0-0, 12) continued the solid play in the second half with good movement with and without the ball, while the stifling defense kept the powerful Surf (3-1-1, 10) offense silent. Goalkeepers Marie Andreyev and Caitlin Hendrick, improved the SeaLions to 4-0-0 with the win and have allowed only one goal this season.

The SeaLions host two matches next weekend at Cathedral Catholic Manchester Stadium against ASC San Diego (June 15, 7:30pm) and LA Galaxy San Diego (June 16, 2:00pm).
