"The Surf played a tough match against us earlier this year," notes SeaLions head coach Lu Snyder."Our 3-0 win wasn't as easy as the score might indicate. They are a well-coached, hard-working cluband this will be a test as we prepare for post-season."

The SeaLions have outscored their opponents 20-3 this season, with nine different players hittingthe back of the net, led by Kiera Bocchino's (UCSD) six goals and Cori Deason's (PLNU) four. EliseBritt (UCLA), Lili Andino (UC Irvine), and Bocchino have added three assists each. Rookie goalkeepers Maria Andreyev (Miramar College), Caitlin Hendricks (Johns Hopkins), and Sophia Garrido (UCSD) have combined for four shutouts and a suffocating 0.43 goals-against mark."Our defense has been productive at both ends of the field," says Snyder. "Both in snuffing out attacks and by quickly setting-up counter-attacks and supporting pressure in front of the other team's goal."

Experience is invaluable, and the SeaLions have it in their cohesive midfield and back-line. Led by defenders Rachel Sadowski (Lynchburg College), Leigh Ann Brown (USD), Tyler Adair (Montana)Christina Bragado (Western Kentucky) and midfielders Rosie Tantillo (USC) and Britt, San Diego WFC has posted a goal differential of a +17, which is fifth-best in the 119-team WPSL this season. The team has also not conceded more than one goal in any match."With the postseason approaching, we need to continue to hone that good form for the playoffs,"Snyder added.
